Hi there, before you ask away, just a few quick things.
If you ask me for advice and you're on your account, sometimes I'll publish your question if I think what I answered will help others.
Of course, if you'd rather have me answer it privately, just say so at the end of your question :)
And to anyone who's asking anonymously but you still want to keep track of the question, just give me a random (somewhat unique though) word and and I'll tag it as that, and you can search tumblr for the tag.
Thanks guys! :)

How to slim down your calves
One of the reasons I’ve always been afraid of resistance training/toning/building muscle/etc. is because I didn’t want to get more muscle on my calves, which are already huge (and can’t fit into this one pair of cute black boots I have). So I did some research on how to slim my calves while eating healthy and exercising, and here’s what I learned from the various websites I looked at:
Eliminate fat- do cardio (running, walking, swimming, etc) to get rid of your overall body fat, thereby getting rid of the fat in your calves. Try to run on flat ground and on low resistance. However, avoid cardio like bicycling since that tends to build calf muscle.
Exercises- do exercises to tone your calves and give them a sleeker look. Use light weights and do multiple reps. Calf raises (15-20 a rep for 4 reps) are good.
More exercises- one possible reason for huge calves is that the butt and thigh muscle are not very strong, so calves must exert more effort when walking, running, etc. Do squats, lunges, and other overall leg exercises to make your butt and thighs stronger. (I personally love hip lifts because they exercise the butt and parts of the legs without really touching the calves.) Try to avoid things like squat jumps since that uses a lot of calf muscle.
Stretch- this helps elongate your calf muscles, making them look sleeker. Stand straight up, then move your right leg back, bend your left leg slightly, and gently lean forward. Keep both feet flat on the ground. Hold for 10-15 seconds and switch. Repeat a few times. Remember to stretch after workouts.
Yoga- this kind of goes hand-in-hand with the stretching. There are many yoga positions that are great for elongating the calves, such as the downward-facing dog. Yoga also helps you lightly strengthen your calves, making them stronger but not bulkier.
Massage- massage your calves. Rub the back part of your legs from your ankles to the back of your knees. This helps loosen up the muscles.
And lastly, sometimes bulky calves are a result of genetics. While you may not get super slim model calves, you can follow these tips to reach the most beautiful you possible!

Body fat

There’s more to weight loss than just the numbers on the scale.

Be sure to take your measurements and calculate your body fat every once in a while. You weight may not change but you may still be losing fat. I personally find this site really helpful:
